About the Westfield Cemetery Guide

The Westfield Cemetery Guide is a free, interactive digital map and photographic archive of Leroy Cemetery in the Village of Westfield Center, Ohio. It brings together the cemetery's burial records and more than 900 photographs of headstones into a single searchable guide, so that anyone can locate a grave without walking the grounds row by row. Visitors can browse an aerial map of every section, click a plot to see the stone that stands there, search the full burial directory by name or plot number, or explore the records by surname.

The guide is built for families researching their own relatives, genealogists and local historians tracing the families of Westfield Center, and visitors who simply want to find a grave before they arrive. Each record lists the plot location, the names and dates recorded on the stone, veteran status, and any notes held by the cemetery, and every grave has a permanent link that can be shared with relatives who cannot visit in person. Where a grave is unmarked or was never photographed, the guide says so plainly rather than leaving the record blank.

The project is maintained by community volunteers connected with Westfield Center, working alongside the cemetery's caretakers to keep the map, the photographs, and the burial records accurate and complete. Volunteers photograph and document headstones, match each image to its plot, and correct records when families report an error. The archive is offered at no cost to the public and continues to grow as more stones are photographed and more records are verified. The website and its information technology are built and maintained by The Pixel Shield.
